NEW YORK CITY, NY – On August 15, a 22-year-old woman arrived at Harlem Hospital with numerous cuts and bruises, complaining that her employer, a diplomat from the nation of Burkina Faso had viciously assaulted her. Curiously enough, her alleged attacker, also reportedly drove her to the emergency room.

The man accused is Sylvestre Compaore, who is currently assigned to his country’s United Nations mission.

The New York Post reported:

A West African official beat his Big Apple employee with a broom and then bound her wrists before taking her to get help — but was not arrested because he has full diplomatic immunity, according to police and sources.

…the NYPD said, with intelligence services instead alerted to the allegations, according to the sources.

Neither Compaore, nor the government of Burkina Faso has thus far offered any public statement on the matter.
